SOUL OF FIREOur only 2003 introduction. SOF first bloomed Summer 2000. We believe SOUL OF FIRE signifies its bright "look at me now" personna.
SOF has excellent branching and has been a great parent for branching. The dark green, narrow, evergreen foliage is particularly attractive, and appears to be rust resistant. Scapes are 26 inches on first bloom, and slightly shorter on rebloom, but still above the foliage.
SOF is very fertile both ways. Three of our 2005 introductions are out of SOF.
Some of the seedlings from SOUL OF FIRE with SO MANY STARS, TAR AND FEATHER, TET. DRAGON'S EYE, and others are at http://www.shantihgardens.com/2003seedlings/daylilies.htm They are the ones with the bright eyes that say "look at me now !". We look forward to seedlings made in 2004 with CAJUN CHRISTMAS, pointed toward even redder eyes on large flowers.
SOUL OF FIRE grows well here in North-Central Alabama, increasing nicely. It also performs well in Ohio, where SOF and other Aucoin introductions will be on display in Heidi Willet's National Tour Garden in 2005.
